Founded in 1956, Ferriera has became a global leader in the production of blades for granite cutting and is known for its expertise in steel rolling. The company has kept pace with innovations in stone cutting technology by investing in research and development, leading to the production of diamond wires in 2014.
Our diamond wires, developed without the use of cobalt to protect both worker health and the environment, are available with beads ranging from 4.3 to 8.3 mm in diameter.
The diamond wires can be customized to meet the specific needs of our customers and are suitable for both Multi-wire and Mono-wire machines; we offer optimized solutions that ensure excellent performance, long durability and reduced energy consumption, guaranteeing precise results at every stage of processing.

Ferriera di Cittadella has left an indelible mark on the history of granite cutting with its revolutionary FC Plus blade patent, further consolidating its leadership position in the industry. This achievement was not a final destination, but the beginning of a continuous innovation process.
Always focused on researching new technologies and advanced solutions for stone cutting, Ferriera decided to expand its offering by entering the diamond wire market starting in 2014.
What sets Ferriera apart is its ability to invest in a complete in-house production process, allowing a total control over every stage of product development. The goal is clear: to develop cutting-edge technological solutions that guarantee excellent quality and superior performance.
Ferriera di Cittadella has continuously increased investments in research and development and this commitment has led to the success of the innovative diamond wire, which today represents one of the crown jewels of our production.
Starting from 2023, based on feedback gathered directly from sawmills, a diamond wire with 42 beads per linear meter was developed, designed to optimize performance and reduce wear on Multi-wire machines, thereby improving the overall cutting process efficiency.

Ferriera produces a sustainable wire as it is completely cobalt-free.
This innovative wire has been designed with the goal of successfully handling the sequential cutting of hard and abrasive materials such as crystals and quartzites, while maintaining consistent and uniform cutting quality. It also reduces costs in both the cutting and polishing phases, optimizing consumption and enhancing overall productivity.
The beads thickness ranges from 4.3 to 8.3 mm in diameter.
In 2024, a new patent was filed for a completely innovative wire with a diameter of 4 mm, which can be further reduced. The new technology was initially tested in our multi-wire laboratory using specially purchased blocks to simulate cutting dynamics similar to those of our customers.
Ferriera, long synonymous with excellence and quality in the hot-rolled flat bars sector, has started the production of CORTEN steel.
CORTEN steel is renowned for its atmospheric resistance and the distinctive patina that forms on its surface, giving it an elegant touch and superior durability against weathering.

Custom Products Tailored to Customer Needs
Our production plant is located in Riese Pio X, in the province of Treviso, covering an area of 50,000 square meters, with 20,000 square meters of covered space. Along with the rolling plant in Cittadella, they ensure a production capacity of over 100,000 tons per year and are designed to produce thin gauge products of excellent quality.
The plant is capable of meeting the global demand for blades for cutting granite, ensuring production and delivery times that are unmatched.
The hot-rolled flat bars we offer cater to niche requests for thin gauges, which are often harder to find on the market.
Considerable investments in plant modernization have been made over the years to develop and offer products and services that the market demands. In 2003, a new storage area was built in the Riese Pio X warehouse, in the province of Treviso.
Since 2014, the Riese Pio X plant has been home to the production unit for diamond wire used in cutting granite and hard stones, as well as diamond beads.
Thanks to continuous investments in machinery and expertise, the company entirely produces diamond wire and all its components in-house.
